Faliraki is situated on the North East coastline, six miles south of Rhodes Town, it is spread alongside a sandy beach of the exact same name, and is among the most popular and liveliest places on the island.
Faliraki is famous for its four-mile stretch of sandy seashore that’s filled with deck chairs, sun beds and umbrellas while offering all types of water based activities from windsurfing to jet skis. Whilst the beach is a clear favourite among tourists, it can be extremely busy in the high season.
Things to do in Faliraki during the day are generally beach-based for the family and bar-based with younger people. In the evening Faliraki is well known for its night-life, the considerately called Bar Street and Club Street awaken and while the action is set only on two streets, there is no lack of places to party!
It’s possible to take boat excursions across the other smaller bays of Faliraki, such as Kathara Bay, which is amongst the most charming within the island, and also possesses a nudist beach on one side. In addition to these there are a number of smaller developed beach locations in between Lindos and Faliraki, for example the pebbled Traganou Beach, every one of the beach locations is thoroughly clean with crystal clear blue water.
Anthony Quinn Bay found nearby is renowned for the filming of the popular movie The Guns of Navarone. This can be a sheltered and secluded bay, perfect for winding down and experiencing a little bit of tranquility.
Accommodation in Faliraki varies from larger 5 star hotels, that provide an array of facilities to the very basic. More modest hotels and rooms can also be found in the centre. Hotels around the outskirts appeal particularly to older families, whilst the center is really best suited to the young.
